I Always Come Back to Art

I am an artist, who like many, stepped away from making art to try to make a living. But after several years, I found myself yearning to start creating again. I started painting seriously in 2006 while working full time. I produced a large amount of work during that time on nights and weekends. Ultimately, I realized the dream of opening my own gallery and workshop. After three years of loving my "job" everyday, I had to make the decision to close my gallery because the sad state of our economy and my growing debt. It was a great experience and I loved every minute of it. I feel like I grew as an artist and a teacher during that time.
I'm starting the next phase of my career by joining the great group of artists at Wired Design Glass Studio where I will be able to teach a number of workshops for teens and adults in metalsmithing, jewelry making, fiber arts and PMC. I will continue to teach Drawing Classes which is my first love at a new location. I am so happy and grateful that I will have the opportunity to continue to feed my soul everyday.
I've been married to the same wonderful guy for the past 20 years and have raised two young men who make me incredibly proud.
